[INTRODUCTION: "My name is ______ and I am strongly opposed to this proposed rule...]

I am strongly opposed to this proposed rule, which would undermine the Health Care Rights Law by falsely stating that it is legal to discriminate against transgender people -- making it harder for millions of transgender Americans to access lifesaving healthcare.

In addition to transgender people, the Health Care Rights Law protects women, people who access abortion care, immigrants, seniors and more. This provision helps to protect patients like me and my family from discrimination. The Health Care Rights Law also ensures that non native English readers can access information in a variety of languages.

Thank you for your consideration. Please put patients first and reject this dangerous proposal.
